EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN

Fire
 

Evacuate

• Evacuate the building – close doors and windows on your way out. Proceed to the nearest escape route
• Stay with your host as much as possible
• If you are not with your host when the alarm sounds, evacuate the building and find your host at the assembly point
• Crawl under the smoke if it is the only way out. Avoid smoke-filled rooms if possible
• If you cannot exit, close doors to block the fire and go to a window where the fire department can see youg
• Provide life-saving first aid if needed (a defibrillator is located outside the reception area)
• Offer psychological first aid if needed
• Do not use the elevator

Extinguish

• Attempt to extinguish the fire if it is safe to do so
• Use water (not on electrical equipment or flammable liquids)
• Use available fire extinguishers

Assembly Point

• Go to the assembly point: Parking lot at the entrance to Samsøvej 2
• Stay close to your host
• Wait for the site coordinator

Emergency Services

• When the fire department arrives, leave the communication to the site coordinator
• Nearest hospital: Aalborg University Hospital Hobro, Stolbjergvej 8, 9500 Hobro

Personal Injury
 

  Stop the Accident

• Turn off machinery, electricity, gas, or other hazards
• Move injured persons to safety

 Alert

• Call 112 and provide the following information: Who you are, your location, and what has happened
• Call for additional help if you are alone, short-staffed, or need the defibrillator
• Notify management
• Meet the ambulance and guide it to the scene

 Life-saving First Aid

• Ensure breathing: Clear airways and provide artificial respiration
• Ensure circulation: Stop any bleeding
• Perform chest compressions: The defibrillator is located just outside reception area

 General First Aid

• Keep the injured person warm or cool, depending on the conditions
• Cover wounds and injuries – use first aid equipment if available

 Psychological First Aid

• Show care and support
• Show care and support
• Explain “normal” reactions to the situation
• Assist with practical needs (e.g., making appointments, arranging childcare, etc.)
